Scientific Name : Amyris balsamifera

Part of Plant Used :  Bark

Best Extraction Method : Steam distillation

Aroma : Gentle, woody, with slight vanilla undertone

Usage Instructions

Precautions : Not to be used by those with any terminal illnesses such as cancer, epilepsy, etc. Possible pharmaceutical interactions so an aromatherapist should be consulted if you're on any medications. Skin Patch Tests should always be conducted with Amyris when using on someone topically for the first time. This oil should not be used internally. Using this oil in a diffuser will yield the internal benefits. Safe for pregnant women to use aromatically but not topically nor internally. 

Topical : Dilute 4 parts Amyris to 1 part Jojoba and massage into the neck area for a sedative effect. 

Aromatic : Diffuse 3-5 drops of Amyris to alleviate stress and anxiety, or to boost libido. 3-5 drops can also be diffused to ward off coughs, colds,  the flu, and respiratory infections.

Open the bottle and take 4 to 5 deep breaths directly from the bottle for a calming effect. 

Diffuse 4 to 5 drops nightly to promote restful sleep. 



Essential Oils should never be consumed without first consulting your doctor/aromatherapist/naturopath, etc. Skin Patch Tests should always be conducted when applying an essential oil topically for the first time.
